Juventudes Musicales de España was created in 1952 as a Confederation of independent ‘Local Associations’ spread throughout Spain. JME is a registered non-profit making organisation.

Her Majesty Queen Sofia is the President of Honour. Besides the winning UNESCO’s International Music Council Prize, in 1997 JME received the Gold Merit Medal in the Arts

Jeunesses Musicales - Juventudes Musicales – is, according to UNESCO, “the most important youth culture organisation in the world”. It is a multi-cultural international organisation formed by a network which organises a great variety of events aimed at:

promoting participation in music at all levels
being active internationally by exchanges of artists, specialists, leaders, teachers, music and information and also through its relationship with UNESCO
gaining a deeper knowledge of musical cultures and disciplines

In 2002, JME celebrated 50 years of uniniterrupted service to young musicians in our country with a series of events which were organised throughout the country.
